Longarm Quilting Services

Cherry Tree Quilts provides Professional Quilting Services to customers on our Computerized Handi Quilter Amara 20 Longarm Quilting Machine.  We offer you the option of mailing your quilt to to us, or dropping it off on an appointment basis.

Pattern Catalogue - You can pick your design preferences from a pdf catalog of available continuous line designs and enter the pattern name in the form below.  However, because pattern selection can often be overwhelming, you can simply pick a design theme, or just leave the pattern selection to us.

Backing Fabric Choices - You can provide your own backing or choose from a variety of backing fabrics using the links below.  You can choose from the full variety of Bolt fabrics at the store which we can cut and piece for you.  Or you have a choice of  Widebacks (up to 108 in wide) and Fireside Backing (up to 60 in Wide).

For Mail Order, simply send us an email at: info@cherrytreequilts.ca with the dimensions of your quilt, colour of thread and preferred design, then mail your top (plus backing, if applicable)  to Cherry Tree Quilts, 9211 Welsh Avenue, Summerland, BC, V0H 1Z7.

For drop-off, please email us at Info@cherrytreequilts.ca and we can arrange a suitable time.

We charge a flat rate $3.60 per square foot (.025 cents per square inch) for edge to edge quilting.  This includes all standard thread, bobbins and needle changes used for your quilt.

All quilts are quilted using Glide Trilobal Polyester thread.  Additional charges apply for Specialty threads such as Variegated or Metallic.

How do I prepare my Quilt Top for machine quilting?

To get the best possible results for your quilt top, please:
• Check all seams for gaps or holes.
• Trim all loose threads
• Make sure the Quilt top is square
• Ensure the borders lay flat and are not wavy
• Press top so that it lays nice and flat
• Indicate top of quilt if necessary (directional fabrics)

Pay special attention to the size requirements for your Quilt Back and Batting

Battings and backings should be a minimum of 4 inches larger than the top on all 4 sides
• Backings should be pressed and squared. Removing the selvages prior to piecing prevents puckering of your backing.
• Do not pin or baste your layers together. Layers are mounted individually on the machine
