Frequently Asked Questions

Moxie

Can I put an HQ Moxie on a Studio2 Frame?
No.  There is NO option to put the HQ Moxie on an HQ Studio2Frame.

Can I get TWO of the 2ft Extension Kits and have a 12ft LOFT Frame?

No.  Maximum length of the Loft frame is 10ft – pole diameter for the Loft frame is smaller than the Studio2 Frame poles.  This makes extending the frame beyond 10ft unadvisable.  Poles may develop a BOW if longer that 10ft.  Consumers needing a 12ft frame should consider the Simply on a Studio2 Frame or an Amara with Studio2 Frame.

The Loft Frame does not come with the black table top like the HQ Studio2 Frame? How does a consumer use a pantograph or HQ Groovy boards?
The Loft frame does NOT come with the black table top like our other frames have.  Consumers purchasing the Quilt From The Back Kit for HQ Moxie OR the Groovy Board stylus should also purchase the Table Top Kit to  provide them a surface to lay their pantographs and Groovy boards.   The 2ft Extension for the HQ LOFT Frame does come with a 2ft section of black table top.

Does the Loft Frame give the consumer the choice to use both the Standard View and the Clearview for quilt loading?
Yes – the HQ Loft Frame can be setup as either STANDARD view or CLEARVIEW.  The Loft Frame does not have the “quick change” option for changing loading views quickly.  During setup the consumer picks one view or the other.  The view can be changed after setup but it is not as easily changed as with the Studio2 Frame.

Why did Handi Quilter create the HQ Moxie and Loft Frame?
The HQ Moxie is aimed at toward that have been quilting on their domestic machines and only do a few projects each year OR they are just getting into quilting and not sure they will need a MOVEABLE longarm type machine.  The HQ Moxie will make the transition to Longarm quilting easier for the “hobbyist” quilter.  In time, these new “longarmers” may find a broader passion and consider a larger machine with more features.
