Brown Bag Mystery 2026

This year’s mystery was Two Step Tango by Karen Montgomery. 

The Brown Bag Mystery is an annual quilting adventure. Local shops sell themed kits, giving quilters a chance to craft a one-of-a-kind quilt without ever seeing the final pattern in advance. Every two weeks, starting March 21st, pattern clues were sent by mail, with step-by-step video tutorials in a private Facebook group, gradually revealing your quilt’s final design on May 16th - Reveal Day.

This year's colour theme from Cherry Tree Quilts was 'Birds of the Okanagan'.  The specific fabrics in each kit were part of the mystery, with the only 'Clue' being the colours of the 'Bird'.

A single Brown Bag made a 60in x 60in quilt - two identical Bags are required to make the 84in x 84in version. 
Finishing Kits are also available to add coordinating borders and binding. One TQC100 Foundation Template Set was required for each Brown Bag.
